This morning, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Aviation is holding a hearing.\u00a0 More information on the FAA’s “call to action” on airline safety and pilot training can be found on the committee website<\/a>.\u00a0 The website also has a link to video of the hearing as it is going on<\/a>, click the View Web Cast button in the upper left corner.<\/p>\n

The topics of discussion are largely based on the\u00a0NTSB public hearing for Continental Connection Flight 3407, which crashed in Buffalo, New York, killing fifty people.\u00a0 While the NTSB has\u00a0not yet issued a final report, the hearing highlighted the need for clarification or enhancement\u00a0of regulation regarding\u00a0pilot training, fatigue and rest.\u00a0 In addition,\u00a0oversight of existing regulatory\u00a0compliance likely needs strengthening.<\/p>\n
